ABSENTEE VOTING

Absentee voting by mail:

Sample Ballot - Click to enlarge Requests for absentee voting must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 31, 2006. This request must include your full name, residence address, and address where you would like the ballots to be mailed. You must sign the request.

If you can not vote at your precinct due to illness or physical condition, you can request that your ballots be mailed to you.

A member of your immediate family may write a request for an application for your absentee ballots. Once the completed application is returned, ballots are mailed directly to the voter.

Completed ballots must be received in the Board of Elections office by 5 p.m. November 6th, 2006. Ballots may be mailed or hand-delivered to the Board of Elections offices, 110 East King Street, Hillsborough.

Absentee voting in person:

 One-Stop Absentee Voting - This is a process in which you appear in person and vote your ballots while in the board office or in one of the special offices set up for this purpose at the Orange County Public Library, 300 W. Tryon St, Hillsborough, Carrboro Town Hall, 301 W. Main St., Carrboro, or the Morehead Planetarium* on East Franklin Street in Chapel Hill. (No earlier than three weeks prior to the election)

One Stop Voting

 Qualified voters wishing to vote prior to Election Day
may vote at one of the One-Stop voting locations listed below.

 DATES:

 One-stop early voting starts on Oct. 19 and ends on Nov. 4 at 1:00 pm
